That’s why we built a place to connect the work of real scientists with those looking for gifts and decor that are not only inspiring but also personally meaningful.
License to Wonder is the marketplace for buying goods created in the process of scientific research. It’s home to curated products brought to life by full-time scientists, from neuroscientists to chemists, and provides everyone with the opportunity to own “tangible bits of science,” as well as show their support for science and experience a direct line of involvement previously unavailable to non-scientists.
License to Wonder is not for science-inspired art, but for products of real science. So every piece comes with both a story and a storyteller – the science behind it and the scientist who made it a reality.
Our Mission
We are a team of scientists who are continually fascinated by the beauty of the graphs, data, and imagery produced during our day jobs. Founded by Stanford and MIT trained neuroscientists frustrated with the inconsistent and relatively low level of science funding, License to Wonder is a new way to fund the pursuit of knowledge we call science. That’s why we refer to customers as "patrons," and why our model is one of profit-share with our curated creators. We make it easy for them to share their science with the world by handling fulfillment and distribution, so they can focus on the science that drives them.
